About Us

Thirty two years ago while studying dance, Ava was introduced to yoga. Her enthusiasm and dedication as a yoga practitioner led her into teaching. She is committed to living a daily spiritual practice and her goal is to share how fulfilling yoga can be emotionally, physically, and spiritually to one’s life. Ava believes that the breath is the sutra ‘thread’ in which connects who we are to all that is. She continues to intensively study Iyengar, Ashtanga, Anusara,and Jivamukti Yoga. She holds her certification in the Kripalu tradition. In 2018, Ava began to study with Leslie Kaminoff to further her knowledge and expertise. Ava considers Rodney Yee to be her primary teacher completing many years of his advanced teacher trainings and workshops and continuing to study with him.


During class tonight, I just got a “wave” of how “blessed” I am to be able to be a part of the joy and peace of yoga that you so generously share with all of us… in this crazy season, I wanted to take time to share this with you… what you do so REALLY well matters. -Barbara Syah
